I photographed Dr. Michael Tomor when he began his executive directorship of the Tampa Museum of Art in April 2015. He came to Tampa after directing the El Paso Museum of Art. The Tampa Art Museum was growing rapidly, and it occurred to me that taking over such an organization would be an enormous task. I wanted to capture that idea in a portrait for the cover of Creative Loafing Newspaper.

The balcony he is standing on is at the rear of the building, overlooking the Hillsborough River. It was a great place to shoot him, with the big, beautiful design of the sides of the building wrapping him in the middle to show scale.
