I spoke with my friend and fellow photographer Lori Ballard about doing her portrait on a simple background instead of in a photographic environment. Usually, when I see her, we both photographing an event. Making a portrait in the middle of the Gasparilla parade would be very difficult! Incredibly. She showed up to the shoot with half a dozen outfits, wigs, and props. I should not have been surprised since she is an experienced fine art photographer. The idea was that we would pick one outfit out to use. However, as I began shooting, she was magic in front of the lens. She knew expression, gesture, and posing, and it was hard to stop. It was fantastic! So, instead of one environmental portrait, I put together this composite of her beautiful images. It verifies that keeping an open mind as when shooting allows for the best outcome. I try not to get hooked on an original idea.
