Derby Lane: Nostalgic and thrilling. See it while you still can.
I feel so fortunate to have been allowed to photograph inside Derby Lane a few weeks ago. Being a documentary photographer, I seek out places that have historical meaning to the bay area. Derby Lane and dog racing has been a staple in the community since 1925, but the last race is scheduled for December of 2020. I was granted permission to bring cameras and record a typical day at the races. I had never been inside the gates. It was fantastic.
Burn Baby, Burn- The Morean Heats Up at Street Party
A street party broke out in downtown St. Petersburg at 7th Street and Central, part of the Morean Arts Center Burn event. Tropical storm Nestor, threatening the area all day, couldn’t extinguish this fire party! The celebration was part of the week-long SHINE Mural Festival happening all over the city.

A MAZING FALL FINALLY COMES TO THE BAY AREA

SUSPENSION AND CARNIVAL SHOW AT PEGASUS NITECLUB
I like photographing the edge. Rainbows and sunsets are nice, but everyone does that. It's not shooting for shock value, it’s shooting for something different. Participating in a recent challenge to shoot the Tampa Bay area happenings in 24 hours, I got permission to photograph the Suspension and Carnival show at Pegasus Niteclub on Florida Avenue

FETISH CON 2018 UNBRIDLED
Doms and subs unite. Fetish Con, a.k.a. Kinky Camp, or more likely Voyeur Fest are all monikers that would fit the event happening in St. Petersburg this weekend at the Bayfront Hilton. Call it what you will but it is edgy and sexy and brings together a flock of fetish followers and connoisseurs to celebrate most things kinky
PEACE, LOVE, AND CONFLICT PREVAIL AT ST PETE PRIDE
The 2018 St Pete Pride festival is sweltering in the mid 90's and packed with sweaty energetic people on Saturday. The air is filled with a mixture of weed, sunscreen, and fading cheap body spray. The atmosphere is sexually charged by low cut sometimes absent tops mixed with painted body parts and a lot of hugging, kissing and drinking. Bun revealing cut-off shorts, fish net stockings, rainbow tutus and slogan t-shirts rule the day, but there's a lot of individual style going on as well.
FLORIDA NATIONAL CEMETERY HONORS THE FALLEN ON MEMORIAL DAY 2018
The dark clouds set a somber mood appropriate for celebrating the lives of the men and women who have served our country and died doing so. I don't think you can get an appreciation of the number of lives that have been lost in the defense of our country until you see the enormity of the cemetery and the row upon row of grave markers.
