OK...so you are ready to learn more. You have enough knowledge (and courage) to take your camera off of automatic, you have a better idea about composition and lighting, and want to take your pictures to the next level. This class is like a Whitman’s Sampler of photography genres. It is comprised of mini Safaris, each in a different location and differing subject matter, with 1:1 coaching from the instructor.

This 4 week class is scheduled from 9:00 - 12:00 AM on Saturdays February 6, - February 27, 2010 at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, 200 North Tampa Street, Tampa, FL 33602. Phone 813-221-2222

Class 1: Portraiture

Most people love taking pictures of others. What is the difference between your image looking like a snapshot and a portrait? Come find out. Class includes the use of artificial lighting, posing, and composition

Class 2: Action Photography

Whether you are shooting your child’s soccer game or speedboats, there are certain techniques required to capture the action. Can you stop a helicopter every time with your lens (No, not by throwing it at the chopper)

Class 3: Landscape

Spatial composition can make or break landscape photography. How do you show scale, where do you set the horizon, and what is the best light? Great landscape photographers sometimes study their subject- occasionally for months or years. They know when the light is right and capture images that last forever.

Class 4: Flora and Fauna

OK… mostly fauna. Capturing flowers, plant life, bugs, and other things up close takes planning and technique. When done correctly the color and beauty of these images are astounding. Specific lighting (and sometimes lenses) is important. This class will also introduce a very cool effect of off camera lighting and theory you will use over and over.

It’s a Whitman’s sampler class without those yucky cherry cocoanut gooey pieces with the bottoms pushed in. LET”S HIT THE SHUTTER BUTTON
